In 1996, Logan Kayne created Utopia2000.com. Starting out small with rented space in the back of a downtown book store, the fledgling company offered web hosting, web development, and a cyber cafe.
In 1998, Utopia2000 undertook its first expansion when it began working with local bands to develop websites featuring their music. The needs of these artistically-based, nontypical business clients required more than the usual (boring) static HTML could provide, so Logan began introducing Macromedia Flash content to his customers. At that time, the use of Flash was a new concept but Logan knew it held the key to adding animation and interactive design to his web development.
In 2000, the next phase of expansion occurred when Logan began shooting video of gigs for one of his clients. Rekindling an age-old interest, he decided to begin offering video services to his clients. Initially offering to film video projects pro-bono in order to gain experience, Logan began taking college courses to strengthen his technical skills.
To reflect this new expansion, in 2002, Utopia2000 officially became LK Media Technologies and began offering a mix of web hosting and development and video production services. This new company’s mission is “to provide solutions to cover multiple media formats for businesses, for non-profit organizations, and for individuals.”
Though LK Media Technologies has now expanded past the ‘one-man shop’, the level of customer service offered to his clients has not diminished. Logan continues to be the lead on each project, ensuring continuity and consistency to his customers, and most customers continue to interact with Logan exclusively.
